Beli (Julbernardia pellegriniana) is a very affordable substitute for Zebrawood. The heartwood is light brown with alternating darker stripes throughout. Grain is usually interlocked, with a uniform medium to coarse texture, and is generally easy to work with both hand and machine tools. When exported, this exotic is in veneer form but uncommonly as dimensional lumber. Typical uses include cabinetry, flooring, veneer, and interior millwork.
