Every Bison 1879 is fitted with an American hickory handle and wedged with both wood and steel wedges for ultimate durability. The Bison 1879 Splitting Axe combines a heavy head weight with a concave shape for splitting even the biggest and heaviest of wood blocks and logs. The head is triple wedged using a full-width wood wedge and two round steel wedges for durability.
